SoundStation Premier's dynamic switching microphones activate only one console microphone at a time, dynamically switching microphones between active talkers up to 256 times a second. Having one active mic, like a handset, means better audio quality — unlike other "summed mic" conferencing systems that give you that "in the well" sound. The Soundstation Premier EX provides additonal expandability through dual microphone ports for connection of wired microphones or Polycom Soundstation Premier Satellite. The system is also provided with an IR remote control unit.

Wireless microphones are available as options for both Soundstation Premier and Soundstation Premier EX.
