Polycom has today announced the availability of the new Polycom EagleEye Director II, an innovative camera technology for the meeting room that delivers advanced video production and huge improvements to the video conferencing experience.
In today’s workplace, many business meetings include at least one meeting participant that has called in via video or audio. The new Polycom EagleEye Director 2 camera aims to make virtual meetings feel even more in-person than ever.
“Today’s business leaders are experiencing a technology gap between what their workplace offers and the experience employees are looking for. We’re on a mission to develop collaboration solutions that close that gap and not only make you feel like you are in the same room, but are easy to use, intuitive and require no training to operate.”
– Michael Frendo, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Engineering, Polycom.
The Polycom EagleEye Director 2 camera expands the Video experience from a distant “bowling alley” style to a professional style video meeting without the need to manually adjust the position or zoom of the camera. Combined with the Polycom Group series Video Conferencing systems for the meeting room, the camera automatically zooms and frames the current speaker from as far as 32 feet within 3 seconds, and intelligently pans out when the discussion includes multiple people.
The EagleEye Director II camera:
- Eliminates manual camera operation
- Clearly identifies everyone in the room and auto zooms on the active speaker
- Enables speakers to be up close for an engaging natural meeting experience
- Seamlessly switches the view with TV production like quality
- Provides intelligent data analytics to measure return on investment and resource allocation
The Polycom EagleEye Director 2 camera runs on the new Polycom RealPresence Group Series 6.1 release, the powerful engine that drives the industry’s leading video and voice technology from Polycom.
