New
Codian 6-port MCU 4203 to be sold in the UK
by VideoCentric
London,
UK - November 27th 2006
- VideoCentric,
who first introduced the Codian range of
video conferencing bridging units into the
UK and Europe nearly 3 years ago, has announced
that it will be including the revolutionary
new 6-port 4203 model in its range from
December 2006.
The
new 6-port model shares the same basic platform
as the 4200 range, which also includes 12-port,
20-port and 40-port variants, and offers advantages
including:
a) affordable entry-level
price point
b) plug & play deployment
c) suitability for organisations with
maybe 4 to 20 endpoints who occasionally
require one 6-way conference or two simultaneous
3-way conferences
d) flexibility for businesses with multiple
locations and/or home workers connected
over the internet where firewall traversal
may be of concern
e) centralised deployment in education
where loading a multipoint feature on
to a single classroom system would be
impractical
f) geographical independence – organisations
may ask VideoCentric to host their MCU
for them avoiding a bandwidth bottleneck
at any one of their own sites
g) in-built HD, siren-14 audio, H.264,
hi-res H.239 graphics, Windows? Media,
Real? & QuickTime? streaming, transcoding
for complete interoperability
h) availability for an immediate on-site
demonstration at customer premises through
VideoCentric
i) performance versus other MCU's on the
market – rather than take anyone’s
word for it, serious customers are invited
to ask for a loan unit to be delivered
for up to 30 days free trial
Services to be offered
by VideoCentric in support of Codian systems
in 2007 include:-
a)
2 technical help desks operated by some
of the most experienced videoconferencing
engineers in the UK
b) 24x7 dial-in test facility
c) advance hardware swap-out & on-site
customer support
d) an expanded customer care department
e) free on-site customer demonstrations
f) free equipment loan
g) a complete end-to-end installation service
h) a new HD interoperability lab, testing
systems from Polycom, Tandberg, Sony, Lifesize,
Emblaze VCON, Aethra, RADVision & others.
David Shimell, Sales
Director for VideoCentric, said, “our
technical experience with Codian and other
MCU's, of which our staff we have installed
over a 100, in schools, universities, the
NHS, large corporate's and small businesses,
means that we can offer professional independent
advice as well as a complete solution. Even
where an organisation doesn’t have
sufficient IP bandwidth to host their own
MCU, we can host it for them through our
ISO27001 accredited Data Centre in the Thames
Valley”.
