London, UK – November 3rd 2004 - VideoCentric has announced that it will offer a low-cost Executive Desktop video conferencing bundle powered by the new Polycom PVX software client. The “PVX Exec” is a unique package including Canon VC-C4 pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) camera with remote controller, USB adapter, H.264 control software, an echo-cancelled tabletop microphone and cables, for an amazing end-user price of less than £800.
The Canon VC-C4 camera is one of the most popular professional cameras in the world offering high quality, advanced pan, tilt & zoom features, remote control and compact size and is ideal for operating with PCs and laptops. Coupled with Polycom’s new videoconferencing software, the package will operate on H.323 IP networks using the new H.264 standard and will provide excellent wideband audio when connected to other Polycom products. Ultimately, PVX performance is dictated by the specification of PC into which it is connected and the broadband bandwidth available between sites, but as more businesses and home users begin to deploy higher specifications, the cost of high-quality video conferencing is now lower than ever.
