Success with Unified Communications is all about ensuring all communications are integrated into a seamless workflow that is easy to use. Polycom is the only Microsoft UC partner that provides direct integration with more than 30 voice, video, and content solutions that integrate with Skype for Business / Microsoft Lync, SharePoint, Exchange, Office 365, and now Microsoft Teams.
Over almost 15 years, Polycom and Microsoft have worked in partnership to combine their collaborative solutions, however the past 3 years have seen a richer relationship develop that demonstrates a much stronger bond and strategy for proper direct integration, rather than simply interoperability.
And, in November 2016, Polycom and Microsoft signed a multi-year alliance agreement that means that they will work together, cross-functionally, to develop and deploy world-class communications solutions that span the enterprise, small-to-medium business, and government markets, together.
Polycom and Microsoft Native Integration
Whether it’s a Microsoft Skype for Business device, such as the Surface Hub, or a Polycom Video Conferencing solution, such as the RealPresence Group, Polycom’s native integration is achieved without any intermediary infrastructure such as gateways, and fully leverages the Skype for Business environment to provide access to presence, contacts and directory services, scheduling, drag & drop, and click-to-join functionality.
Integration with Exchange
With Polycom’s Room Video Conferencing solutions, organisations can directly integrate with Microsoft Exchange for calendaring and simple one-touch-dialing.
Interoperability with other Video Conferencing Vendors
In order to address video interoperability with existing video conferencing solutions, often from multiple vendors, Polycom® also provides RealConnect technology to connect Skype for Business clients and your existing video solutions including third-party video solutions, such as those from Cisco and Lifesize.
Familiar Look and Feel
Polycom’s RealPresence Group Series, Trio and VVX phones are all available with a Skype for Business user interface, so that organisations can be confident that users will be comfortable with the technology at hand, using the familiar look and feel that they are used to on their desktop.
With many new S4B solutions being brought to the market and now the expansion of Polycom integrations to Microsoft Teams too, you may be interested in joining us at our IGNITE YOUR COMMUNICATIONS day, an event aimed at educating and helping IT Directors, Managers and Senior Executives understand the ways to create an integrated UC experience with Microsoft and Polycom.
