SMART Interactive Voting System

The SMART Interactive Voting System is now End Of Life. Please contact VideoCentric for more information, replacement products or upgrade paths, or how this may affect your maintenance contract.

With the push of a button on their wireless remotes, students can instantly tell you how much they know. You’ll no longer have to wonder whether all your students are keeping up with lesson material, since you’ll see precisely how well each student is doing. That insight will help you adapt lessons based on test results or how students respond to your questions.

DESCRIPTION

One system for all your assessment needs

SMART Response (formerly called Response) is an interactive response system combining handheld wireless remotes (or clickers), a receiver and powerful assessment software that allows you to create tests and manage, track, and evaluate the results. SMART Response software guides you through every task with intuitive prompts, clear directions and direct links. You always know what step you’re on and where to go next. Best of all, it integrates seamlessly with SMART Notebook software, giving you all the tools you need to design engaging and interactive test material.

FEATURES

CREATE

Integration with SMART Notebook software
Create dynamic questions and assessments by accessing SMART Response software directly from a tab in SMART Notebook. With its Gallery of more than 6,600 pieces of graphic-rich content, you can add images and other multimedia to any question set or assessment activity.

Multiple assessment options
Compile tests for formative and summative assessment, prepare quizzes or exams in advance and ask spontaneous questions to gauge students’ comprehension at any point during a lesson.

Question variety
Ask different types of questions, including true or false, yes or no, multiple choice, numeric response and multiple answer.

Import content
Use questions from third-party question banks or import questions from Microsoft applications and other commonly used software programs.

Content pages
Test student comprehension during any lesson by inserting questions between content pages in SMART Notebook software.

Multiple print options
Print quizzes as handouts so students can complete them at their own pace, or add comments to completed tests that can be printed and used later as study guides.

DELIVER

Anonymous mode
Allow your students to respond with complete anonymity. Students can use SMART Response without signing in, which allows them to respond without being tracked.

Privacy setting
Use the privacy mode in the system’s built-in gradebook to ensure sensitive student identification details and test scores aren’t seen by other students or teachers.

Radio frequency (RF) technology
Experience the convenience of the system’s RF technology, which provides a reliable and convenient wireless connection between the student remotes and central receiver. You don’t need a line of sight to deliver questions or submit answers, and the remote has a range of up to 100 feet (30 m).

Large LCD screen
Students can easily read up to three lines of text on the large display screen. They can see if their responses have been sent and review the status of their battery power and network connection.

Ergonomic design
Even young students will find the handheld remote easy to use and comfortable to hold.

Extended battery life
Benefit from easy battery maintenance. The remotes use two AA batteries, which are long-lasting and easy to replace.

Easy connection and installation
Connect the receiver to a computer using a USB connection. The receiver can be either mounted on a wall or placed on a desk. No extra power supply is required.

Convenient maintenance features
View power status through LED lights on the receiver. You can also see whether information has been sent or received.

MANAGE

Teacher Tools
Access, view and manage all assessment data in one location. With this feature, you can create class lists and set up, conduct, and manage tests and quizzes. You can also monitor each student’s progress during a test and instantly view their results.

Intuitive on-screen links
Proceed easily through every task using clear links and simple prompts that guide you step by step.

Weighted marking
Assign different point values to individual questions within a test or quiz. You can also adjust student scores in the built-in gradebook.

EVALUATE

Comprehensive gradebook
Use the built-in gradebook to track performance and record test results, which are automatically collected and saved to one easily accessed file. You can also create reports that show grades for the entire school year.

Tagging
