Server based video conferencing packages, sometimes known as a "client server solution" is a highly flexible solution for large deployments of desktop video conferencing across an organisation. The server and related infrastructure is held centrally either on-premise or in the cloud, and deals with network interoperability, firewalls and NAT Traversal, address book management, updates, recording etc. Each end user (employees, homeworkers) has a "soft client" on their desktop/laptop but all control and management is done centrally and "pushed out" to these users.
