Description - TANDBERG TMS

The TANDBERG Management Suite (TMS) makes it easy for administrators to manage and maintain their entire video network and schedule video meetings. The centralized system reduces costs and saves time by delivering realtime information and powerful diagnostics.

The centralized system reduces costs and saves time by providing real-time information and diagnostic tools for more effective monitoring. Usage measurement and cost allocation facilitates accounting functions and return on investment calculations.

The TANDBERG Management Suite manages systems that operate on IP and ISDN. Systems from several manufacturers are supported. The main administrator controls access right to TMS and decides what functions they are allowed to perform.

Graphic display
Clear overview of real-time system activity including:

  • Call Status
  • ISDN interface information
  • Network connection
  • DownspeedingTF
  • Unreachable systems

The background image on the graphic display can be customized.

Call detail records (CDR) and billing information

  1. assign people and/or departments with an accounting code
  2. allocate costs between departments and monitor usage
  3. data easily exported to other programs
  4. detailed data, graphs and charts of:
  • number of incoming and outgoing calls
  • call duration
  • bandwidth usage
  • network type
  • diagnostic reports

Event Notification
The TANDBERG Management Suite sends an event notification directly to the appropriate system administrators, rather than the administrators having to continually monitor the systems.

boot system is rebooted
link down/up system interface (ISDN - PRI/BRI or external net (V.35)) looses or regains connection
connect error connection error while dialing
connected/disconnected a call has been connected or disconnected
lost response/got response system no longer reachable by the network
Downspeeding system downspeeds on IP or ISDN during call
upgrade system software upgrade is started or completed
scheduling a scheduled call has been booked and a scheduled call has occurred
gatekeeper registration system has or has not registered with a gatekeeper
low battery low battery on the remote control

Advanced conference booking
Allows scheduled meetings and ad-hoc calls to be automatically launched with no
need for user intervention. Administrators can also connect and disconnect participants during a call

Scheduler (Optional Component)
The TANDBERG Scheduler is a complete room reservation and videoconferencing scheduling tool. Ease-of-use is the key factor that differentiates this web-based application from other booking systems. From start to finish, the software is developed with one goal: make it simple for everyone to use across the entire organization. Large buttons, 4 easy steps, automatic time zone calculation and email invitation using Microsoft Outlook, are a few of the ways this is done.

Software upgrades

  • all TANDBERG systems registered in TMS can simultaneously be upgraded with one operation
  • upload a list or spreadsheet of release keys rather than entering release keys one-by-one
  • schedule upgrades in advance for improved convenience and co-ordination

Templates and System Backup
Apply any specific group of settings to multiple system. If all new conference room systems require the same settings, one template can be used for all. The same templates can also be used to restore defaults when settings are changed.

Directory Services
Directory services are a convenient way for administrators to manage and update the stored numbers on multiple videoconferencing systems. At the same time, users can store their personal video or telephone numbers in their own local directory.

  • create one or multiple directories
  • relate the system to a directory, so that the numbers in the directory are stored on the system
  • system directory is available even when IP network is not running
  • when one number in the directory is changed, all systems related to the directory will be updated automatically
  • correct gateway (GW) prefix and country codes are automatically inserted

Automatic call routing

Calls can be routed in a particular way or the system can automatically select the most cost efficient way to place the call based on the following priorities:

  • Systems
  • Point-to-point calls connected directly
  • Embedded MultiSiteTF used to connect up to four systems
  • TANDBERG MCU used to connect more than four
  • Network
  • Use ISDN or IP
  • Mix IP and ISDN
  • Local calls
  • Domestic calls
  • International calls

Backup
TMS will back up registered systems.
