The TANDBERG 990 MXP offers top of the range functionality in the TANDBERG set-top videoconferencing product line. Based on the popular TANDBERG 880 MXP, the TANDBERG 990 MXP has increased IP bandwidth to 1.5Mb/s and up to 512K ISDN along with all the familiar TANDBERG 880 MXP options such as Natural Presenter Package (NPP) and Multisite.

Elegant Set-top Box
A sleek and elegantly designed all-in-one set-top box, the TANDBERG 990 MXP can be placed on top of any TV monitor, providing the user with full flexibility.

Easy to Use
Equipped with an intuitive on-screen user interface and automatically activated remote control, TANDBERG products are designed for even the most non-technical of users. Setting up a videoconferencing call on the TANDBERG 990 MXP is as simple as making a telephone call, just dial the number and push the CONNECT button.

Outstanding Audio and Video Quality
Videoconferencing should be as natural as possible. Through Intelligent Call Management, the TANDBERG 990 MXP automatically configures itself to the best possible audio and video quality, guaranteeing the highest level of performance and the most natural of meeting environments, without the need for user intervention. Unlike traditional videoconferencing, TANDBERG systems operate with native video resolutions. The images maintain their true resolution, rather than being scaled to adapt to various formats. This is of particular benefit to users of NTSC and SVGA resolutions.

Powerful Presentations

The Natural Presenter Package:
• Maintain Eye Contact – Duo Video, a unique TANDBERG feature, allows participants at the remote site to simultaneously watch the presenter on one screen and view the live presentation on the adjoining screen.

• Read with Ease – Digital Clarity automatically transmits live images from PCs and document cameras at a resolution four times that of standard videoconferencing quality (4CIF/4SIF), providing brilliant colours and crisp images.

• Plug and Present – The PC Presenter makes plugging a PC into the system extremely simple through a direct access plug on the front of the cabinet (XGA Input). This makes it easy to show documents to other meeting participants and hold effective presentations. The PC SoftPresenter lets you enjoy the same benefits through a software connection over the LAN.

All of these features are available in both point-to-point and MultiSite calls.

Involve Multiple Sites in One Conference
TANDBERG’s embedded MultiSite functionality gives your more ways than ever to involve people in your meetings - easily and effectively:

  • participants can join a meeting by video and or by telephone
  • systems can be cascaded so that up to 10 video sites and 4 audio sites can meet
  • participants can use ISDN or IP in the same meeting
  • the systems can be used as an audio bridge only with up to 14 callers
  • meeting participants can select between Continuous Presence view which shows multiple sites on the monitor or Voice Switched view which shows only the speaker on the monitor

Streaming
The Streaming function sends images and sound to PCs linked to the Local Area Network (LAN). It is an excellent tool for broadcasting a speech, presentation or video meeting. The video and audio from both sites in the video conference is streamed.

Wireless Flexibility
The TANDBERG 990 MXP can be used on a wireless LAN. Companies using this type of network can insert a PC card into the back of the system; this in turn communicates with a wireless receiver, an access point. With the only wired connection being a power cable, the system can easily be moved around.

Razor Sharp Images
The SVGA Output lets the user connect a VGA monitor as the main monitor or the second monitor. This allows for high resolution live video images which are essential for PC presentations. True native PC resolutions ensure that the images are un scaled so that the quality of the image received is as good as the image sent.

"On-the-Fly" Network Selection
A variety of bandwidth speeds and network selections are available on the TANDBERG 99 MXP0 for specific applications and individual needs. The system will automatically detect whether the user is making an IP or ISDN call. Other external networks can also be selected using the on-screen menu, without rebooting the system. A V.35 network connection is available on the TANDBERG 990 MXP unit.

Reliability Ensured
A successful video conference depends on reliable connections without network interruptions. The unique Down speeding feature maintains the call in progress, while the SoftMux further enhances reliability.

Secure Connections
Embedded, standards based, encryption technology ensures complete confidentiality in point-to-point calls.

Effective Video Terminal Management
TANDBERG 990 MXP systems can be monitored, managed and maintained from a central web portal using the TANDBERG Management Suite. In addition, everyone in the organization will be able to reserve a system and schedule a meeting, right from their desktops.
