On Friday 4th August, 2017, VideoCentric took a trip to the Polycom EEC at Broadgate Towers, London followed by a visit to our brand new demonstration facilities and meeting suite at Sven Christiansen, Farringdon. With an afternoon full of technology, questions and testing of new video conferencing and collaboration technologies, the team came away with lots of food for thought, and new experiences of both Polycom and Cisco technologies.
Here, we wanted to share a few images of the day and what’s in store when you arrange a visit with VideoCentric to some of our demonstration facilities across the city.
The Polycom Centro is installed the main reception area at Polycom’s EEC in London – here’s Lucy and David giving it a try!
In the main meeting demonstration suite at the Polycom EEC, the Polycom Medialign stands at the far end of the boardroom table – dual screen with the EagleEye Director 2 camera.
In the same room, great for comparisons, are a range of Polycom endpoints and solutions. Here, you can see the Polycom Ergotron for healthcare, the Polycom Convene desktop solution and the Polycom Trio audio solution. Plus, you get a great view over central London!
With the partnership between Microsoft and Polycom all about integration between professional Video Conferencing solutions and Microsoft’s Skype for Business, VideoCentric were keen to see how the integration really worked. Above, we’re testing out scheduling from Microsoft Outlook and calling Polycom endpoints directly through Outlook invitations.
Within the room, we also got access to the Microsoft Surface Hub, giving us the ability to try out the collaboration tool in depth, test out its features and capabilities, and see how it could assist in team collaboration. The Surface Hub here is integrated with Polycom cameras to improve the video quality, and Polycom audio devices to reduce issues with pickup and echo cancellation.
The VideoCentric team were excited to move into the smaller collaboration suite to take a look at the newly launched Polycom Pano wireless data sharing and presentation device, which we’ve discussed in some of our previous posts recently. Utilising the touch screen and bringing in 4 different devices (a laptop, PC and two phones) was great to see in action, and we were very impressed with the features – especially the whiteboarding. (We’re also sat around another Centro here – imagine a creative environment for graphic designers, manufacturers, architects and product designers with all these tools at their finger tips!)
After a few hours at the Polycom EEC, the team moved across to our new collaboration suite at Farringdon, where we have recently installed the new Cisco Spark Board in the fantastic Sven Christiansen offices.
This beautiful office suite shows how technology and furniture is becoming much more tightly integrated, and gives VideoCentric the ability to discuss needs and business goals with customers, without any particular manufacturer tie. Although the Cisco Spark Board is installed in this room, the rest of the office here can be utilised for discussions and demonstrations around any particular technology or aim, alongside grabbing a bite to eat and a beer or popping to the cocktail bar next door after a long days work!
