As more and more of us continue to work from home, it’s important to maintain the same professionalism we would in the office. Our partners at ScanSource have come up with a handy list (and an entertaining video) to help you get the best out of your meetings.

Having worked from home full-time over the past few years, ScanSource’s Tech Team Leader, Steve McLaughlin, has a fair few tips and tricks up his sleeve when it comes to perfecting video etiquette, watch the video and discover how you too can win from home.

  1. Always check your lighting and ensure your camera is turned on

  2. Check your chair – is it too high or too low?

  3. Check your audio – what speaker and microphone are you using?

  4. Before joining the meeting, check your self-view

  5. Dress appropriately

  6. Concentrate as if you were in a meeting, don’t be tempted to check your phone

  7. Come prepared! Have a drink ready

  8. Don’t forget to mute when you aren’t speaking or turn off your camera if what you are doing could be distracting
